    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    NBCUniversal is seeking a Director to join the Advanced Advertising Strategy team to focus on developing the (1) performance advertising vision and playbook for Ad Sales and (2) sales strategy for Small & Medium Business Growth (SMBG)/performance advertising. On this team, you will design strategies, business plans, and make analytically driven recommendations to drive growth and yield. This will involve evaluating the products, offerings, and measurement solutions available to the organization, track and grow performance of the SMBG sales effort, and own communication to executive leadership. In addition, you will own commercialization efforts and strategic partnerships in collaboration with Sales, Planning & Inventory, Insights & Measurement, Product, Sales Enablement, and Finance teams and be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on the Performance/SMBG market.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Small & Medium Business Growth (SMBG) Sales Strategy

     

    + Lead success and KPI tracking, elevating trends & insights that inform future strategies and recommendations for SMBG sales leadership.

    + Maintain ‘voice of customer’ with Sales team to formulate product enhancements & development of new products that solution for client objectives to drive new demand.

    + Be an expert on SMBG and performance products (e.g., Universal Ads) to educate internal and external stakeholders on potential integrations and solutions between agency/buyer and NBCU to drive joint business growth.

    + Build-out of opportunity and white-space analyses leveraging internal insights & competitive / marketplace trends to develop new product & platform opportunities.

    + Routine deliverables to executive leadership to monitor business performance.

     

    Performance Advertising – Product & Measurement Strategy

     

    + Define and shape the end-to-end strategy, positioning and business plan for NBCUniversal’s measurement offerings and partnerships to create a best-in-market performance advertising platform.

    + Identify and evaluate new strategies and product/measurement solutions to enable rapid revenue growth by understanding market gaps and needs to best deliver on KPIs for NBCU’s advertisers.

    + Create justification for, and prioritization of, solutions to build, license, or deprecate, while managing product roadmap tradeoffs with Product & Measurement partners. (examples include clean room integrations, pixel policies, new vendor offerings, etc.)

    + Maintain firm grasp of measurement market and competitive set within advertising to identify opportunities.

    + Socialize and educate stakeholders on NBCU’s measurement offerings by providing insights, thought leadership and best practices by category/vertical.

    Basic Requirements:

    + 5+ years of experience, preferably in performance advertising, advanced advertising, or measurement roles.

    + Deep understanding of the customer journey, and how performance advertising fits into each stage (awareness, consideration, conversion).

    + Understanding of ads measurement methodologies and associated technologies (e.g., lift testing, incrementality, MMM, MTA, MMP, etc.)

    + Collaboration and proactivity are essential. Having exploratory conversations with new partners and digging into data to extract insights and communicate results will be a large part of this role.

    + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex performance insights and strategies to non-technical stakeholders.

    + Marketplace insights will require converging intel from internal and external sources and framing NBCU’s positioning.

    + Strong PowerPoint, Excel and data visualization skills are a requirement for this role. The willingness to learn and improve these skills is mandatory.

    Additional Requirements:

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

     

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
