**Work Schedule:** Monday-Friday; may vary with customer needs
**Amount of Travel Required:** 100%

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The successful Driver in this role will be able to successfully execute the following duties:
Safe Transport of Hazardous Materials
+ Operate commercial vehicles to transport Class 9 hazardous materials safely.
+ Follow proper loading and unloading procedures to prevent spills or damage.
+ Ensure cargo is properly labeled, secured, and documented.
Compliance with HAZMAT Regulations
+ Adhere to DOT, FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and PHMSA regulations.
+ Maintain HAZMAT endorsements on CDL.
+ Carry and understand the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) for Class 9 materials.
+ Follow hazard communication protocols, including using placards when required.
Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance
+ Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, focusing on safety equipment, cargo security, and vehicle performance.
+ Report and address mechanical issues promptly.
+ Ensure spill kits and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) are available and in good condition.
Documentation & Record-Keeping
+ Maintain accurate shipping papers, including the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
+ Keep logbooks, bills of lading, and manifests as required by DOT.
+ Report any incidents, leaks, or spills immediately to appropriate authorities.
Emergency Preparedness
+ Know how to respond to spills, leaks, and exposure incidents.
+ Follow evacuation procedures and emergency response guidelines.
+ Properly dispose of any contaminated materials following regulations.
Customer Service & Communication
+ Communicate with shippers, receivers, dispatchers, and regulatory agencies.
+ Ensure customers are informed about any special handling requirements.
+ Provide excellent service while following all safety regulations.
+ Other duties as assigned.
YOUR MUST HAVES:
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Possess active CDL license for transporting hazardous materials (Class 3, 5, 8 and 9).
+ Must pass physical exam (DOT) and PFT test – Puminary Functional Test
+ Must pass drug test, and follow annual drug testing requirements
+ Tanker/hazmat endorsement (TSA)
+ Provide acceptable MVR report
+ Road certification – 25 mile test
WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE:
+ General experience hazardous chemicals- production, order processing, quality control, or transportation thereof.
+ Prior experience with liquid hazardous chemicals.
OUR ENVIRONMENT:
Mobile work environment includes exposure to wet, hot, cold, various shifts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
**Frequently** (role requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)
Stand, climb, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend, push/pull, lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Embarking/Disembarking the truck itself while maintaining 3 points of contact. Meaning, both feet & 1 hand, or 2 hands & 1 foot.
•Duck-walking” under the truck for inspection. This term describes a walking in a crouching manner while knees are bent at a 90-degree angle.
**Constant** (role requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)
Use of fingers and hands. Lift/Carry 10 lbs or less & push/pull 12 lbs or less.
**Occasional** (role requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)
Climb & crawl. Lift/Carry 51+ lbs & push/pull 41-100 lbs.
