Job Description:
The Manager HIM Operations monitors the daily operation of assigned care sites within their region supporting hospital stakeholders and leadership in the management of medical records. Supports Health Information Management operational and administrative functions including Release of Information, Medical Record Document Imaging, Record Management, Record Analysis, Physician record completion, HIM Systems Analysis, Regulatory Compliance and Reception within their assigned care site. The Manager Regional HIM Operations monitors the daily operation of assigned service lines across all of HIM regardless of care site assignments. The Manager Regional HIM Operations drives process improvement to maximize efficient and high-quality records management.
Essential Functions
+ Manages the day-to-day operations of the department. Collaborates with leadership in planning, program development, customer satisfaction, communication and compliance with regulatory agencies.
+ Performs workflow analyses and recommends changes to enhance departmental productivity. Works collaboratively with HIM service line managers and HIM caregivers to maximize efficiency and ensure best practices across HIM service lines.
+ Performs caregiver level duties as needed to support daily operational needs keeping department within established benchmarks and adjusting workloads as needed.
+ Participates with management team and staff in development of action plans in line with the organization's strategic initiatives and goals.
+ Manages relationships with project stakeholder including governance, leadership, end users, and consultants. Responsible for problem solving to address issues. Facilitates collaboration of cross-functional teams in a project environment with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency.
+ Partners with the department director and leadership team to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives.
+ Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures.
+ Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and pertinent regulations and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in technology to ensure compliance. Assists with the creation or updating of policies and procedures according to evolving regulations and organizational expectations.

Physical Requirements:
Qualifications
Required
+ RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
+ HIM managerial/supervisory experience
+ Experience working in a hospital office environment
+ Demonstrated experience utilizing an electronic medical record
Preferred
+ BA in Health Information Management
Physical Requirements
+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
+ Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
+ Occasional lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs.
+ Occasional travel between facilities expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$43.67 - $67.41
