    Human Resources Coordinator (Talent Acquisition Coordinator: Classified Staff)

    POSITION DETAILS

    Aligned with Baruch College’s strategic vision, the Office of Human Resources is dedicated to delivering exceptional HR services to applicants, faculty, staff, and retirees. We collaborate with departments to attract, develop, empower, and retain a diverse and talented workforce that is essential to the College’s prominence and success. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the recruitment and onboarding processes for classified civil service and managerial staff, ensuring compliance with CUNY policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Classified Civil Service Operations:

    + Serve as the primary liaison for all classified and managerial civil service inquiries, providing expert guidance to departments and hiring managers.

    + Coordinate and process all personnel actions related to classified staff, including appointments, reappointments, promotions, level changes, and terminations, ensuring adherence to civil service regulations and contractual agreements.

    Recruitment and Onboarding:

    + Organize and participate in classified civil service hiring pools, facilitating a fair and efficient selection process.

    + Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring the completion and compliance of all required documentation, including background checks and fingerprinting, in alignment with institutional policies.

    + Collaborate with hiring managers and departments to draft and review job descriptions and postings, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational needs.

    Data Management and Compliance:

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records for classified civil service staff, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with record-keeping standards.

    + Perform data entry and maintain records in CUNYfirst and other HR information systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

    + Monitor and manage performance evaluation processes, including the distribution and collection of periodic and annual evaluations, to support staff development and organizational effectiveness.

    Process Improvement and Reporting:

    + Develop and maintain tracking tools and reports to monitor recruitment actions, onboarding progress, and other HR metrics, providing insights for continuous process improvement.

    + Assist in the creation and implementation of innovative recruitment strategies and process enhancements to attract and retain top talent.

    Communication and Training:

    + Disseminate communications, policy updates, and announcements from University Human Resources to classified civil service and managerial staff, ensuring awareness and understanding relevant information.

    + Provide training and support to hiring managers and search committees on recruitment processes, systems, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance across the institution.

    Additional Duties:

    + Supervise support staff as assigned, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

    + Undertake special projects and other duties assigned by the HR Recruitment Manager or Executive Director of Human Resources to support the department’s objectives and initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bacherlor's degree required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably within a higher education setting.

    + Proficiency in HR information systems, with experience in CUNYfirst or similar platforms being highly desirable.

    + Strong understanding of civil service regulations, employment laws, and best practices in recruitment and selection.

    + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    + Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment and employment practices.

    + Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.

     

    - Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting

     

    - Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources

     

    - Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness

     

    - Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries

     

    - Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    $60,394- $65,946; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
