    Job Description

    The Purchasing Manager will focus on sourcing, quoting, developing new suppliers, and negotiating prices. This role leads parts and materials purchases by developing sources of supply and monitoring supplier performance. Responsibilities include obtaining required parts and materials, verifying receipt of items, authorizing payment, managing and controlling inventory, and optimizing the current purchasing process. Essential duties involve issuing RFQs/RFPs, analyzing suppliers for cost, quality, and delivery requirements, and negotiating long-term pricing agreements on critical commodities. The manager will also source new preforms, work with the NPD group for supplier evaluation and approval, and collaborate with the Logistics and Global Materials Manager to optimize inventory levels and drive cost improvements. Additional tasks include tracking prices, providing purchase recommendations, acting as a liaison to resolve procurement issues, and ensuring inventory parameters are maintained. The role requires working across supply chain streams to optimize processes, monitoring supplier performance, maintaining procurement records, addressing defective goods or services, supporting GMP initiatives, and creating reports.
