Job Summary:
Founded in 2001, the Archer Center is where Texas meets the world. As the Washington, D.C., campus of The University of Texas System, the Archer Center offers exceptional undergraduate and graduate students from across the UT System the opportunity to live, learn, and intern in the nation’s capital. We are currently seeking a part-time Operations Assistant based in Austin, Texas, who shares our commitment to student success, experiential learning, and leadership development.
The Operations Assistant will support the Texas-based Archer Center team with candidate recruitment efforts. Responsibilities include responding to prospective student inquiries, tracking program interest, following up with potential applicants, and identifying new recruitment opportunities. This role also serves as the coordinator and primary contact for the Archer Fellow Alumni Ambassadors, who support recruitment efforts across all 14 University of Texas System institutions.
The ideal candidate will be organized and detail-oriented, with strong verbal and written communication skills. They will represent the Archer Center with professionalism and discretion, particularly when handling confidential information. This role requires excellent time management and the ability to engage with stakeholders across academic environments. No travel is required.
This position is located at the UT System Administration Office/Archer Center in Austin, Texas, and reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and Campus Relations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent: Some college coursework or relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree or upper-division undergraduate student.
+ Currently enrolled at a UT System institution and pursuing a degree in education, higher education, political communication, leadership, policy, political science/government, or a related field.
+ Experience working in an administrative office environment.
+ Experience engaging with students and staff in a higher education setting.
+ Interest in the impact of experiential learning and/or off-campus programs on students’ professional, personal, and academic development.
