Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Controlled Substance Specialist is an integral role in the oversight of controlled substances and facility regulatory processes. Responsibilities include: managing the controlled substance inventory, providing information needed for the Multidisciplinary Diversion Team (MDT) analysis by using analytical tools, reviewing controlled substance overrides, performing audits and reconciliations, assist during investigations, participation in discrepancy resolutions, responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for performing cross functional duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), analytics, and/or project management roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

What qualifications you will need:

Required: Minimum of 3 years of hospital experience

Required: Pharmacy Technician Certification

Preferred: Past experience with controlled substance diversion surveillance programs

Preferred Associate or Bachelor Degree
