    Nail Technician Instructor

     

    Status: Part-time

     

    Hours: Various. This position requires a minimum of one Saturday per month, but may require two Saturdays a month based on program needs.

     

    Pay/Salary: $24.09 /Hour

    Summary

    As a Nail Technician Instructor, you play a vital role in shaping the next generation of skilled professionals. Under the guidance of the Director of Programs and Program Coordinator, you will lead engaging instruction, support student development, and ensure the curriculum remains current and relevant. This position combines your technical expertise and passion for teaching to make a lasting difference in students’ lives. Through your guidance, students will gain the knowledge, confidence, and credentials needed to launch successful careers in the beauty industry.

    What You’ll Do:

    As a Nail Technician Instructor, your contributions directly impact student success and program excellence. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     

    + Deliver high-quality, hands-on instruction that promotes student learning and industry readiness.

    + Collaborate with faculty and administrators to design, update, and maintain a curriculum that aligns with industry standards and student needs.

    + Prepare and organize lesson plans, instructional materials, and lab experiences that support diverse learning styles.

    + Oversee and guide students during lab, clinical, externship, or work-based learning opportunities, offering constructive feedback and mentorship.

    + Track student progress, identify learning needs, and implement academic improvement plans to help each student thrive.

    + Regularly input attendance, progress, and performance data into Northstar to ensure accurate academic reporting.

    + Utilize the Learning Management System to engage students and orient new learners effectively.

    + Serve as a professional role model, maintaining certifications and demonstrating industry best practices in every interaction.

    What We’re Looking For:

    + Education Requirements: A high school diploma or the equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Cosmetology School or Apprenticeship.

    + Experience: A minimum of three years of industry experience is required.

    + License: A valid Utah State Cosmetology Instructor’s license.

    + Skills: Proficiency in current cosmetology practices, including cutting, coloring, styling, nail care, and basic aesthetics.

    + Knowledge: Familiarity with effective instructional strategies and student engagement techniques.

    + Professional Development: Commitment to staying current with industry trends and maintaining relevant certifications.
