    Position Summary/Description:

    This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

     

    Reporting to the Executive Director of Annual Giving, the Leadership Annual Giving Officer will serve as an annual giving frontline fundraiser, with a specific focus on digital fundraising. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer will work closely with the Executive Director and schools and units to develop a strategic roadmap and appropriate annual and long-term fundraising goals. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer will also have direct responsibility for maintaining and managing a personal portfolio with a mandate to identify, cultivate, and solicit annual fund gifts. This position will serve as staff liaison for the Young Alumni Leadership Council ( YALC ), Alumni Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity ( ACRED ) and GiveUNC Volunteers. 50% of fundraising will be focused on the Chancellor’s Global Education Fund. 50% of fundraising will be focused on The Carolina Fund, Scholarships and other important initiatives as they arise.

    Education and Experience:

    Demonstrated successful annual giving or transferable experience preferred. Ability to interact effectively in a comprehensive research university setting. Familiarity with the University’s academic and administrative offices and their functions; knowledge of and ability to tap resources within the University community.

    Essential Skills:

    Ability to develop trust and strong collaborative working relationships. Experience nurturing and motivating development professionals in order to foster professional growth and exceed organizational goals. An employment history highlighted by increasing levels of responsibility and a demonstrated ability to exercise sensitivity and good judgment in dealing with staff and the public. Superb interpersonal relationship skills. Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
