The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) is seeking an Outdoor Recreation Training Coordinator to join our team in the East Region Office!

IDPR manages 30 state parks, trails, and recreation areas across every region of Idaho. We are a mission-driven organization made up of dedicated individuals who build parks, protect natural resources, and expand outdoor recreation opportunities that improve quality of life in Idaho. Guided by our core values of integrity, compassion, service, stewardship, and commitment, we work to protect the resources entrusted to us and help visitors enjoy them safely and meaningfully.

IDPR provides free education courses for boaters and off-highway vehicle (OHV) operators and administers grant programs that support recreation facilities and services for a wide range of users. Through our Recreation Bureau, we are committed to educating the public on safe and responsible recreation.

As the Outdoor Recreation Training Coordinator, based in our East Region Office, you will lead training efforts related to boating safety, OHV use, and snowmobile and winter recreation safety. The OHV Education Program offers statewide instruction for operators of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), motorbikes, and utility-type vehicles (UTVs), with an emphasis on safety and responsible riding. You will also support boating education by helping train and provide resources to Idaho sheriff’s deputies and others responsible for patrolling Idaho’s waterways. This position involves coordination and outreach with law enforcement agencies, educators, user groups, and partner organizations.
