Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller/Collections Specialist to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in the Melbourne, Florida area. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing insurance claims, processing payments, and ensuring the accuracy of billing information. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry while utilizing your expertise in medical billing and coding.

Responsibilities:

• Gather insurance information from patients and healthcare providers to facilitate claim submissions.

• Input accurate data into financial systems to generate and process insurance claims.

• Investigate and resolve outstanding insurance claims by utilizing online portals and other resources.

• Handle appeals related to payment denials or underpayments, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.

• Conduct follow-up activities with insurance companies to secure payment for submitted claims.

• Prioritize and manage multiple accounts efficiently, focusing on time-sensitive cases.

• Review denial reasons and implement corrective measures to address claim rejections.

• Retrieve and organize documentation for audits or insurance requests as needed.

• Update patient information, including addresses, to ensure records remain accurate.

• Prepare reports and spreadsheets for legal follow-up or other administrative purposes.

Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems and familiarity with accounts receivable processes.

• Strong knowledge of medical billing functions, including appeals and authorizations.

• Experience working with diagnosis codes, payer policies, and insurance guidelines.

• Ability to research and resolve claim denials effectively and implement corrective actions.

• Skilled in organizing and retrieving documentation for audits or insurance inquiries.

• Excellent multitasking abilities to manage time-sensitive accounts and prioritize tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

• Familiarity with healthcare industry practices and terminology.
