Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Charlestown, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with labor regulations. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering an excellent opportunity to transition into a long-term role.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Manage union-certified payroll operations, including reporting and compliance.
• Administer employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
• Conduct annual audits of benefits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Maintain organized employee records, both digitally and physically, including benefits, attendance, and performance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment standards, and company policies.
• Assist the HR Manager with implementing and updating HR policies and programs.
• Coordinate employee onboarding, including handling paperwork and maintaining personnel files.
• Oversee open enrollment processes and communicate benefits information to employees.
• Support vacation tracking and contribute to the implementation of time and attendance systems.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 7 years of payroll experience, with a strong background in union payroll.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and other payroll and accounting software.
• Knowledge of benefits administration, including health insurance and retirement plans.
• Familiarity with labor laws and compliance standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience in construction accounting is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
