Description About the Role: A Chicago-based union-side labor and employee benefits law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney with at least 5+ years of labor/employment legal practice to join their team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to independently manage cases from start to finish, conduct arbitration hearings and mediations without senior partner oversight, and provide exceptional legal services in labor and fringe benefits-related matters. Key Responsibilities: Represent labor unions and Taft-Hartley fringe benefit funds in a variety of labor and employment law matters. Manage and litigate cases autonomously, including arbitration hearings, mediations, and compliance matters. Conduct thorough legal research and draft compelling briefs, motions, and other relevant documents. Handle a 50% labor law and 50% fringe benefits caseload. Provide advice and representation in federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration forums. Requirements Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law or employee benefits law. Proven ability to independently manage and litigate cases. Licensed to practice law in Illinois and admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills. Commitment to serving the labor movement and protecting the rights of organized labor. Why Join Us?
