    Robert Half Monterey is looking for a recent grad with a degree in accounting or related degree to assist our client in a contract to hire role.

     

    Our client, a thriving company in the agricultural industry, is seeking a motivated Accounting Clerk to join their dynamic team.     Position Overview:

    The Accounting Clerk will play a key role in supporting the finance team with a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring that financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing, including invoice matching, payment verification, and collections.

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and logs by inputting data into the general ledger systems.

    + Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records in a timely manner.

    + Work closely with the finance team to prepare weekly and monthly financial reports.

    + Review and analyze transactions for accuracy and assist with ensuring compliance with company policies.

    + Utilize Excel tools (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) to complete data analysis and reporting tasks.

    + Support internal audits and assist with year-end financial closings as needed.

    + Provide general administrative support to the accounting department and contribute to special projects as assigned.

    Requirements

    Requirements:

    + Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).

    + Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

    + Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working on multiple priorities.

    + Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    + Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    + Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) is a plus but not required.
