    DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM

    EFFECTIVE: August 4, 2025 LOCATION: District Office WORK YEAR: 11 Months REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Instruction MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    + Collaborate with and supervise math and literacy coaches

    + Collaborate with professional development consultants in the development of a professional development calendar, curriculum guides and curriculum revisions

    + Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction regarding professional development necessary for the effective implementation of the intended curriculum and instructional best practices in all schools

    + Collaborate with elementary school principals and reading and math AIS teachers to analyze data and use data to inform instruction

    + Assist in the recruiting, screening and training of qualified candidates for positions

    + Works cooperatively with other administrators to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment among instructional programs

    + Prepare and administer the budget for instructional materials

    + Provide guidance in the selection and use of texts and other teaching material

    + Keeps current with educational developments and literature in the field of education and participates in the affairs of state and national professional organizations devoted to the advancement of curriculum and instruction

    + Supervise and coordinate the NYS 3-8 testing program

    + Responsible for the development and implementation of federal grants

    + Oversee homeschooling requests

    + Responsible for the organization and supervision of the summer school program and extended school year programs

    + Chair committees as needed

    + Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction

    Job Qualifications

    + Valid NYS School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) Certification

    + Minimum of 5 years of prior administrative experience

    + Prior teaching experience

    + Knowledge of the Science of Reading

    + Knowledge of literacy intervention strategies and MTSS process
