The Lo Lab (PI: Dr. Yuan-Hung Lo) in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Oncology at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying gastric cancer development and therapy response. Our research focuses on how genetic and epigenetic alterations shape cancer cell plasticity, clonal evolution, and tumor progression using cutting-edge genetic approaches, including CRISPR/Cas9, 3D human organoid models, and mouse models. The lab offers a unique platform for bridging fundamental discoveries with translational potential in cancer biology.
*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
Develop independent research skills, including experimental design and execution.
Publish high-quality peer-reviewed manuscripts and present research findings at international scientific conferences.
Gain experience in writing fellowship applications and other research funding proposals.
*ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*
• A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Computational Biology, or related fields.
• Strong technical skills in mammalian cell culture and basic computational data analysis are required. Experience in organoid culture, genome editing (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9), or advanced computational biology (e.g., R, Python) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in independently analyzing next-generation sequencing datasets, especially DNA sequencing, bulk RNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq.
• A strong publication record and a passion for cancer research. Strengthen scientific writing and communication skills through the preparation of fellowship applications, research manuscripts, and oral presentations.
• Strong ability to independently lead and execute research projects, including experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
• Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references.
