Job Title: Entry Level Financial Analyst
Job Description
This position is in the Securities Administration Services (SAS) group and is responsible for processing the most complex transactions or reconcilements related to loan or security payments.
Responsibilities
+ Provide remittance and correction information to servicers.
+ Monitor and analyze pooled loans to determine non-compliance and communicate information to investors.
+ Evaluate servicer performance to ensure compliance with stated agreements.
+ Participate in system enhancements by attending user group meetings and testing.
+ Identify and communicate processing exceptions relevant to similar series across individual portfolios.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of expertise areas, including Collateral, Securities, Default, or Trust Administration.
+ Train junior level staff and review their processing and reconciliations.
+ Propose recommendations and implement automated solutions on an ongoing basis.
+ Perform data entry, accounting, and analyses of pooled loan data from various mortgage servicers.
+ Use multiple database systems, including Microsoft Excel, to ensure data variance is identified and accounted for.
+ Research and interpret controlling legal documents as issues arise with collateral or bond payments.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and V Look Up.
+ Strong skills in business analysis, finance, data analysis, and mathematics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
+ Preferably 1+ year experience in Financial Services (including internship experience).
Work Environment
The work environment is team-oriented and task-based, with a hybrid flexible schedule. Some training and large team meetings are held on-site in Columbia, MD, while the rest of the work can be done remotely. The environment is extremely team-oriented and deadline-driven, with analyses needing completion at certain points during the month, which may require overtime. There are opportunities for growth upward through the organization.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
