    Volunteers of America Colorado is a nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in-need transform their lives.     WHAT MAKES VOA SPECIAL?VOAC recognizes the unique needs of the older adult who needs a wheelchair ramp to stay at home safely, and the preschooler whose family needs additional resources. VOAC supports veteran’s efforts to exit homelessness as well as provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence. Wherever VOAC goes, it combines relationship-building, volunteers and quality services to lift and support our neighbor’s efforts to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.

     

    * Delivers meals from caterer kitchen to scheduled delivery points for Volunteers of America – Congregate Dining Program which provide both nutritious meals and socialization opportunities. Food Delivery Coordinator will also assist with delivery of Meals on Wheels to clients' homes.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Loads packaged meals, milk and supplies on vehicles, verifying accuracy of count and ensuring that meals are appropriately sealed.

    • Assists in loading delivery equipment into company vehicle to be transported to kitchen.

    • Drives company vehicle following published route schedule to deliver meals and supplies in a timely and accurate manner.

    • Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicle and delivery equipment according to posted cleaning schedule.

    • Delivers mail from the Kitchen to dining centers, volunteers and program participants; returns mail from dining centers, volunteers and program participants to Program office.

    • Stages Meals on Wheels route deliveries in the freezer at the Northern Colorado Services office.

    • Reports changing conditions or delivery problems with dining centers, volunteers and program participants to supervisor immediately upon return to Program Office.

    • Assists in pick-up and delivery of program food and supply inventory stored off of the agency premises

    • Behaves in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner at all times in contacts with dining centers, volunteers, program participants and the general public to foster a positive image and maintain good relationships.

    • Performs all other duties as assigned

    None.

     

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

     

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly and repeatedly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    • Part-time ~15 hours a week

    • Shifts are either Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday, 9:00 – 3:30, with a 30-minute lunch.

    Pay Range: $19.00-$20.00/hr

    Minimum Qualifications of Position

    • Valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of insurance. Can drive safely in all types of inclement weather.

    • This position requires a National Sex Offender Public Website check, criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and Colorado Adult Protective Services must be completed and reviewed. Offers of employment are contingent upon the requests of these checks.

    • Use of personal cell phone (cellphone reimbursement provided)

    Preferred Qualifications of Position

    • Professional driving experience of a cargo or passenger van preferred.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Demonstrated effective communications skills, both written and verbal.

    Salary Description
