    Job Description

    Join our team as an HSE Coordinator, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health and safety of shipyard operations. You will work closely with the Maritime Administration and US Government, taking a hands-on approach in the field alongside yard tradesmen and women. Your primary focus will be on identifying potential hazards and adhering to shipyard health and safety regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Implement the yards environmental, safety, and health program in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.

    + Write permits for hot work and work in confined spaces.

    + Identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to shipyard health and safety regulations.

    + Assist the Health, Safety & Environmental Supervisor with program implementation.

    + Conduct safety training sessions and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.

    + Work side by side with yard tradesmen and women, spending 90% of your time in the field.

    Essential Skills

    + Thorough knowledge of safety and health in industrial and construction operations.

    + Understanding of OSHA regulations.

    + Ability to resolve problem situations effectively.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Self-motivation and ability to work independently.

    + Teamwork and collaboration skills.

    + Proficiency in MS Office.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bilingual in Spanish or Korean is a plus.

    + Training experience is desirable.

    + 3-5 years of practical field experience in a dedicated safety position in construction or a related industry.

    + Experience as an emergency responder is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is similar to most heavy industrial settings, including noise, heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain. You'll work indoors and outdoors with exposure to inclement weather conditions.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.
