    We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project Engineer to join a dynamic team in the pharmaceutical industry. This role is with one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing companies located in Columbus, Ohio. The company is renowned for being a trusted source of over 750 high-quality generic, specialty, and branded pharmaceutical products, serving hospitals, physicians, and pharmacists across North America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate equipment to increase capacity and upgrade technology, including qualifying capital manufacturing equipment and making a case for purchase.

    + Focus on the packaging side, specifically handling equipment for four bottle packing lines that place tablets into bottles.

    + Qualify and implement equipment, then oversee day-to-day support with cross-training in different areas.

    + Analyze equipment capabilities, specify, and set up equipment for new product launches. Once qualified and purchased, ensure the equipment is up and running.

    + Monitor processes and calculate data for production equipment to identify continuous improvement opportunities.

    + Initially focus on capital buying of manufacturing lines and subsequently become the subject matter expert for that equipment within the plant.

    + Manage full projects from qualification to purchase, implementation, and optimization.

    + Interact with multiple stakeholders, including process engineers, technology managers of equipment, and capital engineers.

    + Travel approximately once per month in the initial months to vendors for machinery testing, with potential travel destinations including Europe, Canada, and New Jersey.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.

    + Experience in buying and qualifying capital equipment, specifically production packaging equipment.

    + Background in manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry preferred, though experience in any GMP or highly regulated environment such as food or cosmetics is acceptable.

    + Project management experience, overseeing projects from qualification to purchase to operationalizing equipment.

    + Experience with manufacturing equipment, purchasing equipment, fluid bed processes, material flow, production processes, and capital projects.

    + Strong communication skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or project engineering within a relevant industry.

    + Experience in getting new equipment operational within a manufacturing environment.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in a clean, state-of-the-art facility that includes a mix of office space, labs, and manufacturing areas. There is flexibility around working hours, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Core hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM, with flexibility on start and end times provided core hours are met.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.37 - $50.48/hr.
