Job Title: Senior Process Controls Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Process Controls Engineer with at least five years of experience in electrical design and PLC programming. The ideal candidate will possess synchronized motion control experience and a strong understanding of mechanical machine design. This role involves creating electrical control systems and drawings for machinery, preparing concept sketches, and writing necessary code for various control systems. You will assist with machinery development cost estimates, produce conceptual diagrams, and prepare literature for machine operation. The position also involves assisting with start-up, troubleshooting, and correcting machine designs on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
+ Create electrical control systems and drawings to applicable standards for machinery based on customer specifications.
+ Prepare machine or process concept sketches.
+ Create drawings, schematics, timing, sequencing diagrams, and design calculations.
+ Write code necessary for PLC, coordinated motion control systems, HMI, and Safety Control devices.
+ Assist in the preparation of machinery development cost estimates.
+ Produce conceptual diagrams and calculations to support estimates.
+ Prepare written literature for machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
+ Assist with start-up, troubleshooting, and correction of new and existing machine designs on the shop assembly floor.
+ Follow-up on machine field experience to improve machines and machine design.
+ Evaluate and test electrical components for proper selection relative to cost, machine requirements, and application.
+ Prepare and check electrical diagrams and documentation for ease of understanding and interpretation.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years of PLC programming experience.
+ Experience in synchronized motion control.
+ Understanding of mechanical machine design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior OEM and web converting experience.
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Work Environment
This position is set in an office environment with frequent interaction on the manufacturing floor. The engineering team consists of about 10 people within a fast-growing, family-owned manufacturer and machine shop located in Hanover, PA. This is a new addition to the team, reflecting the company's growth and stability.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
Elsner is currently searching for a Controls Engineer. They have pretty standard medical/dental/vision with negotiable PTO/Vacation time.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Hanover,PA.
