    Overview

     

    The Project Controls Director directs and oversees the organization's portfolio of projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the customer.

    Responsibilities

    + Defines the organization's project management methodology and establishes processes for tracking and delivering projects.

    + Establishes project teams and distributes the project workload.

    + Serves as a liaison between project teams, external clients, or other functional areas of the organization.

    + Sets and manages project expectations.

    + Ensures projects are completed on time and within established quality standards and provides reports to clients or project sponsors.

    + Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.

    + Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.

    + Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers.

    + Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.

    + Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

    Qualifications

    + Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience.

    + May require project management certification to develop and mentor others.

    + Decision-making skills.

    + Leadership skills.

    + Ability to build collaborative relationships.

    + Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills.

    + Project scheduling skills.

    + Project management skills.

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    + Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.

    + Well versed in the industry and the Company-s competitors.

    + Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

    + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    + Climbing stairs.

    + Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

    + Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

    + Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds. Operating motor vehicles.

    + 25 % of time will be spent traveling to job site/office location.
