We are seeking a talentedClinical Mental Health Court Navigatorto join our team of nearly 500 employees. TheClinical Mental Health Court Navigatorwill be responsible for navigating connection to and engagement with community mental health treatment and related services for individuals with serious mental illness involved in the criminal justice system. This role will collaborate with attorneys, public defenders, district attorneys, assigned counsel, probation and court stakeholders to foster rapid connection to services and encourage engagement with treatment programs, providing crisis intervention and brief treatment interventions as needed. Increase the number of screenings and assessments conducted at early stages of the criminal justice system to help identify needed behavioral health interventions. Address barriers to mental health treatment for those with serious mental illness (SMI) or other behavioral health needs to potentially reduce the number of missed court dates, technical violations, and re-arrests.
CCSI is partnering with Wyoming Mental Health Department to hire aClinical Mental Health Court Navigator.This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf of Wyoming Mental Health Department.
In this role, you will
+ Work closely with the local county, town, and Justice courts and criminal justice professionals to facilitate referrals
+ Conduct initial screenings to assist with referrals to mental health and/or substance use treatment services and to determine if a more comprehensive evaluation is needed
+ Complete mental health, substance use and criminogenic assessments as clinically indicated
+ Facilitate linkage and referral to appropriate services/supports that can address identified needs in a timely manner
+ Provide crisis intervention and brief treatment interventions as needed
+ Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and referrals
+ Educate clients about the court process and available behavioral health resources
+ Advocate for mental health services and alternatives to incarceration
+ Attend OMH-led training sessions and participate in regular stakeholder meetings
+ Ensure compliance with OMH Diversion Center guidelines and data reporting requirements
+ Seek opportunities to engage individuals with SMI as they go through the court process
+ Develop and maintain a comprehensive resource guide of appropriate local behavioral health and social services to assist with matching individuals with the best resources to promote health, wellness, and recovery
+ Connect participants to resources for shelter, food, or other health-related social needs; as needed, aid and/or refer for completion of applications for social services benefits.
+ Cultivate partnerships with community providers to best support clients
+ Attend court hearings as appropriate
+ Have the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, law enforcement, the court system, state agencies, state forensic services, and local service providers
+ Provide on-going education and consultation about navigator services and available behavioral health resources to various court stakeholders and mental health agencies to increase referral opportunities
+ Have the capability to work with minimum oversight and help build the program/caseload, as this is a brand-new position within the legal system
+ Travel to different courthouses across Wyoming county as necessary to fulfill responsibilities
+ Occasional evening hours, depending on scheduled court hearings of individuals with SMI
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
What You Bring
+ Masters in Social Worker (MSW) or Masters in Mental Health Counseling required with one to three years of experience or equivalent education and work experience (see CCSI's equivalency chart (https://www.ccsi.org/CCSI/media/pdfs/Equivalency-chart.pdf) )
+ Licensed or licensed eligible preferred- LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or other licensed mental health professional.
Additional Requirements:
+ Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings
+ Ability to work occasional evening hours, depending on scheduled court hearings of individuals with SMI
+ Respect the confidential nature of all CCSI and CCSI customer information you are exposed to in the course of your work performance. Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.

Salary Description
$63,000 to $68,000/year
