Position Summary
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of collection activities to assist the Treasurers Office in recouping delinquent tax account revenues. Provides recommendations to superior concerning operational policies and procedures for delinquent tax collection accounts; confers with delinquent tax payers to establish appropriate plans of payment; reviews bankruptcy filings with courts and prepares and files claims for County collection activities; and provides assistance in mailing Demand Notices / Judgment Orders and adjusts delinquent account balances as payments are received.

Position Responsibilities
+ Participates in work unit strategic planning processes.
+ Provides recommendations to superior concerning operational policies/procedures for delinquent tax collection accounts.
+ Confers with delinquent tax payers to establish correct amounts due and acts as a liaison between taxpayer and collection agency to resolve problems.
+ Prepares written correspondence and or telephones requisite individuals to discuss account status and payment activities (e.g. account credits and or assessment charges).
+ Compiles narrative/statistical information concerning delinquent tax account activities; compares data from a variety of sources to assure information accuracy, completeness and integrity; and prepares periodic/special reports detailing requisite data according to established guidelines.
+ Reviews collection agency's remove access site for accuracy of accounts placed with them and for payment verification for various clearances. As well as ensuring the two systems remain balanced.
+ Receives and reviews all employee and vendor listings from all units of government for research for delinquent taxes.
+ Maintains and reviews the garnishment activities of Treasurer's Office for government employees and vendors.
+ Creates and maintains appropriate spreadsheets and files.
+ Uses PVD ad-hoc reports to increase efficiency.
+ Maintains the work unit filing/record keeping system.
+ Provides assistance in mailing Demand Notices / Judgment Orders and adjusts delinquent account balances as payments are received.
+ Reviews corporate dissolutions and probate filings and files claims for County collection activities.
+ Creates requisite filing system to track and monitor payment processes.
+ Greets visitors; answers and places telephone calls; provides and receives standard or detailed information concerning work unit operations and payment processing activities; determines appropriate measures to resolve a particular problem or concern; and informs superior of any issues.
+ Confers with superior to discuss work processes, plans or actions to be performed; presents or resolves difficult problems and issues; receives guidance and instruction.
+ Performs other related duties of a comparable level/ type as required.
+ Interacts with Code Enforcement and Alcoholic Beverage clearances to collect delinquent taxes and ensure assessment. Turns taxpayers not being assessed over to the Assessor to be assessed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and 3 years of previous collection work experience required.
