    Overview

     

    Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

     

    Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a **_Quality Assurance Analyst/Specialist_** and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be required to qualify as a NQA-1 Lead Auditor and perform assessments. Will be responsible for developing checklist, assessment plans, and assessment reports based on upper tier requirements. Perform QA review of procedure and procurement documents for compliance with the applicable quality program requirements. Assist in the maintenance and development of the technical, administrative, and programmatic documents related to the implementation of NQA-1/10CFR830 compliant program. Travel to lead and participate in assessments if needed. Write clear and organized reports and other documents that effectively communicate ideas, solutions, and status of projects.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in science related field, or

    + Associate’s degree with four (4) years of professional experience, or

    + High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of professional experience is required.

    Preferred Requirements

    + Must have strong interface sills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

    + Strong oral and written communications, audit/surveillance skills including prior NQA-1 Lead Auditor Certification or American Society for Quality Certification is desired.

    Exempt grade level(s) 28-34. Minimum salary $69,444 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
