    Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with medication certification and a passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care? UPMC’s Mt. Jewett Clinic in beautiful Mount Jewett, PA is looking for a dedicated Full-Time LPN w/Meds, PCN to join our primary care team.

     

    In this role, you’ll work closely with a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to deliver exceptional care to individuals and families in our community.     Responsibilities:

    + Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients and their families.

    + Obtain and interpret patient information while considering age-specific needs.

    + Conduct patient interviews, answer healthcare-related questions, and provide counseling using available resources.

    + Administer medications and vaccines as ordered, and stay current on immunization, flu, and allergy injection requirements.

    + Sterilize office equipment, order and track medical supplies, and perform laboratory duties in compliance with OSHA and CLIA standards.

    + Identify and communicate patients’ educational needs to the physician and provide instruction as requested.

    + Assist the physician during examinations and perform specialized procedures as needed.

    + Maintain clinical competence through participation in continuing education and documented learning experiences.

    + Demonstrate a commitment to Service Excellence by consistently meeting the needs of patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.

    + Deliver care that is accurate, timely, coordinated, and thorough while upholding professional and compassionate standards.

    Required:

    + Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program.

    Preferred:

    + One year of clinical experience.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.

    + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

    + Must complete licensure examination within FOUR MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.

    + Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)

    *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
