SUMMARY
**Mechanical Assembler I** is responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems, ensuring all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. They work with various tools and equipment to connect, align, and secure parts according to specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms to accurately assemble mechanical devices and components.
+ Perform quality checks on parts and materials used in production to ensure adherence to company standards.
+ Manage inventory of parts and tools used in the assembling process.
+ Test finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
+ Identify and report any issues to supervisors or quality control personnel.
+ Assist in installing and integrating mechanical components into larger assemblies or systems as directed by supervisors or lead assemblers.
+ Clean and finish assembled parts as needed, removing excess material or debris and ensuring a clean and presentable final product.
+ Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, including part numbers, quantities, and any deviations from standard procedures.
+ Keep the work area clean and organized, including correctly storing and maintaining tools and equipment.
+ Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.
+ Auto-mechanic training or experience is a significant advantage.
+ Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
+ Conversational in any other language is a plus.
JOB SKILLS
+ Comfortable using computers for data entry and online training.
+ Knowledge of MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and other software applications.
+ Familiarity with ISO 9000, OSHA safety regulations, and quality management systems.
+ Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
+ Familiarity in mechanical assembly, with experience in using power tools and reading blueprints.
+ Attention to detail and accuracy in assembly work.
+ Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
+ Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
+ Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
+ Reliable and flexible, willing to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders or special projects and meet organizational demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
+ ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
+ Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
+ Hearing protection in specific locations.
+ Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
