Part Time , 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Every Third Weekend.

Job Summary

Transports patients throughout the hospital in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Communicates with the dispatcher on runs,

delays, etc. Maintains transportation equipment and completes department records and transportation forms.

Essential Functions

+ Transports patients to their tests and procedures in a safe and timely manner.

+ Collaborates with the nursing staff, ancillary departments, the patient, and other health care providers in providing quality patient care.

+ Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.

+ Completes departmental records and transport forms.

+ Meets the department’s standard of 18+ (18-24) runs in an 8-hr. shift.

+ Returns equipment to their appropriate locations. (i.e. wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks).

+ Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of equipment.

+ Maintains patient confidentiality.

+ Provides information and gives updates within specified time intervals.

+ Keeps the dispatchers informed of any delays, changing of equipment, etc.

+ Appropriately interacts with other departments when giving or receiving patient information.

+ Maintains “positive” interactions with co-workers, patients, visitors, and staff.

Range of Pay

+ Pay starting at $15.00.

Qualifications

Required

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.
