RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in the planning and implementation of patient care on the inpatient behavioral health units and in Day Treatment programs. Performs duties in accordance with established departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures.

II TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting weight up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, carrying usual weight of 25 pounds up to 30 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.

• Occasional: climbing stairs, squatting.

• Operates cooking equipment, sports equipment, computer, telephone.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• May be exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

• May be exposed to communicable diseases from patients.

• Patients may be aggressive and/or paranoid.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field; or four (4) years progressive experience in a behavioral health setting.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• One (1) year experience working in a behavioral health setting preferred; e.g., inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs.
