    PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Sr Manager Personal Loan Strategy at our Tysons, Virginia location. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Personal Loan Strategy to drive the growth, expansion, and strategic planning of our Personal Loan business. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to expand market presence, optimize portfolio performance, and identify new opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in consumer lending, a strong analytical mindset, and experience leading strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

    Strategic Planning & Market Expansion:

    + Develop and implement growth strategies to expand the personal loan business across new customer segments, geographies, and distribution channels.

    + Conduct market analysis, competitive intelligence, and industry research to identify trends and opportunities for expansion.

    + Evaluate new product offerings, pricing models, and partnerships to enhance the portfolio’s reach and profitability.

    + Drive strategic initiatives to enhance customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.

    Business Growth & Performance Optimization:

    + Define and track key KPIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial targets.

    + Partner with credit risk, marketing, product, and operations teams to optimize the customer journey and improve conversion rates.

    + Leverage data analytics and insights to refine strategies, improve underwriting efficiency, and enhance portfolio profitability.

    + Identify opportunities for cross-sell, up-sell, and customer lifetime value expansion.

    Execution & Stakeholder Management:

    + Lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with finance, operations, risk, and technology teams to drive execution.

    + Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership to influence decision-making.

    + Work with external partners, including fintech firms, financial institutions, and distribution partners, to drive growth and innovation.

    Qualifications

    Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

     

    + Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.

    + Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in strategy, business planning, or product management within personal loans, consumer lending, or financial services.

    + Minimum of two (2) years’ direct management experience.

    + Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with a proven track record in driving growth and expansion.

    + Deep understanding of credit risk, lending economics, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.

    + Experience with market research, data analytics, and competitive intelligence.

    + Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to execute complex initiatives.

    + Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    + Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Tableau, or other analytics tools is a plus.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility

     

    This position will supervise employees.

     

    Licenses and Certifications

     

    + Agile Product Manager or Product Owner certification a plus.

    + Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.

     

    Work Environment

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

     

    *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

     

    Travel

     

    Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
