Job Description
The Director, Legal Counsel ~ Southern Affiliates is an experienced attorney responsible for developing and directing a comprehensive program to manage all legal issues related to the Kaleida Health locations in the Southern Tier of Western New York, including Olean, Bradford, Northern Chautauqua and future affiliate organizations. The Director will function in part as a generalist, identifying and evaluating all legal matters, and reserving for personal handling any matters that are appropriate to the Director's training and expertise. The Director shall otherwise refer matters to, or seek guidance from, the Kaleida Health Office of General Counsel should special expertise in compliance, litigation, health law, employment law, labor relations law, insurance, regulatory reporting and/or health care risk management be required. The Director will also be responsible for coordinating with any outside counsel who have been retained to represent the Southern Tier sites and will serve as primary connection between those sites' personnel and outside counsel. The Director will report to and work closely and collaboratively with the Vice President, Risk Management Counsel for Kaleida Health.
Education And Credentials
Juris Doctor required. License to practice law in New York State; good standing required.
Experience
5-10 years experience in private practice or in-house; health care experience preferred but not required.

**Salary Range:** $120,354.00 - $165,486.75
*Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
