General Description
This position provides software engineering support to the AF Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Program Office’s Requirements (XR) group at Robins AFB, GA. The successful candidate works with a team of senior engineers and architects, coordinating and providing direction to the development and implementation of new and or updated requirements to the DCGS weapon system. In addition, the candidate will work with product owners to prioritize requirements, identify how requirements can be integrated into the overall solution, and support the analysis of portfolio requirements incorporation into the DCGS portfolio. The candidate will participate in (a) integrating Zero Trust architecture into the DCGS solution, and (b) drive integration with advanced technology and modernize legacy systems, including system migration to the cloud.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform the following:
+ Partner with senior architects and engineers and working groups and assist them in understanding the DGCS portfolio and the allocation of capabilities across systems in the portfolio, define user requirements considering existing plans and roadmaps that support a “future view” of technology implementation, and evaluate potential high-level design solutions given capability allocation across the portfolio.
+ Provide oversight and direction on incorporating requirements into the solution, taking into consideration current and emerging weapon system priorities.
+ Assist with solution testing as required.
+ Evaluate the capabilities, architecture, and challenges associated with the implementation of a Zero Trust architecture and make recommendations on how to incorporate this construct into the DCGS portfolio.
Specialized Knowledge
The successful candidate will have knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
+ Systems engineering concepts.
+ Understanding Cloud technologies and tools and how they support systems migration.
+ Knowledge of Project Management, Portfolio Management, and Risk Management.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields of study .
Professional Certifications
None.
Clearance
Existing or ability to obtain a TS/SCI Security clearance.
Experience
0-3 years’ experience working in Systems Engineering concepts, requirements management, or architectural integration for IT Systems. Knowledge or experience with the DCGS portfolio is a plus, but is not required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Other Characteristics (e.g., Personal or Language)
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with personnel from other companies, government program management, administrative personnel, and technical staff members. Must perform with minimal management oversight and have strong time management skills.
Working conditions, including location
A combination of remote and at least one to two days each week on-site at Robins AFB, GA.
Client duty hours are Monday through Friday.
Salary
100K 112K Annually
