Our client, a leading player in the financial services industry, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team. As a Business Analyst, you will be part of the capital markets department supporting various teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Required: Experience in the Capital Markets and Derivatives space.

**Job Title:** Business Analyst - Capital Markets

**Location:** New York, New York (Hybrid, 2x/week in office)

**Pay Range:** competitive - all candidates must be able to work on Experis' W2

(due to client rules we are unable to work with 3rd party subcontractors)

What's the Job?

+ Partner with trading, risk, operations, and technology teams to gather and analyze business requirements across the capital markets and derivatives space.

+ Build and present data-driven proof-of-concepts (POCs) and visual prototypes using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to validate ideas and gain stakeholder buy-in.

+ Investigate data sources, perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), and map data flows across systems to ensure accurate and complete understanding of business processes.

+ Create intuitive and impactful visualizations and dashboards to support decision-making, user acceptance testing (UAT), and executive reporting.

+ Act as a bridge between non-technical stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What's Needed?

+ 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets or investment banking.

+ Deep understanding of derivative instruments – swaps, options, futures, forwards – and their data structures.

+ Hands-on experience with data analysis using Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.

+ Familiarity with SQL and querying structured data to support validation and root cause analysis.

+ Agile/Scrum experience, with the ability to manage backlogs and collaborate in sprints.
