What we’re looking for:

Indorama Ventures- Indovinya is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Production Engineer at our Pasadena, TX location and will support our Clear Lake, TX site. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the medium to longer term operations of Bayport area unit. Must have extensive knowledge of both the manufacturing process and the chemistry being applied in order to ensure sustainable, compliant, high-quality performance of the unit. Should utilize technical knowledge to analyze and optimize plant performance, while monitoring and collecting data for unit KPIs. Also, you will be responsible for developing front end engineering scopes of work for capital projects and leading new product introductions from the manufacturing site.

What will be expected from you?

• Ensure on-time delivery of product by producing on-spec material according to the schedule.

• Work with R&D departments and operations for successful implementations of new product introductions.

• Utilize data to drive improvements.

• Exemplify safety culture and participate in safety initiatives.

• Track production efficiency, including downtime, cycle times, product yields, material variance, first-pass-quality, and lost production volume. Address any gaps in these areas that can be resolved without redesign/capital investment.

• Lead trials of new products once R&D has transferred ownership to the site. Perform capability analysis on product specifications.

• Identify possible unit improvement projects, collects data to support their development, and forwards them to the engineering group for further investigation. Serve as a SME on ongoing project teams and collect data to confirm success after projects are implemented.

• Reviews the production schedule.

• Participates in technology transfers.

• Drafts procedures for operations.

• Provides project support for production units and utilities.

• Performs data collection of cycle times and OEE.

• Completes updates to Oracle, technical indexes, and LIMS systems.

• Tracks efficiency for site utilities.

• Acts as the primary support for non-compliance investigations and actions.

• Serves as the technical representative for process hazard analysis (PHA).

• Identifies and eliminates process wastes.

• Identify projects that could provide good R.O.E.

• Monitor material variance for deviations.

• Troubleshoot and addresses process quality issues to ensure high FPQ.

• Perform capability analysis on new product introductions.

• Record and investigate recurring quality deviations, collaborating with operations team and QC lab to identify and address problems.

• Manage and optimize all process under your responsibility taking into consideration Quality, Legality and Food Safety (if applicable) and client needs on Indoramas’s products and services.

• Guarantee all documentation under your responsibility is updated and available for consulting.

• Foster open, positive, environment in unit.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth production.

• Serve as an accessible point of contact and mentor to shift supervisors and operators. Must be willing to assist in any production issues that come up unexpectedly.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

• BS in Chemical Engineering

• 3+ years of engineering experience in chemical facility

• Root Cause Analysis Training, PSM, knowledge of control systems, engineering best practices, problem solving.
