    _*This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state to Minnesota and live 50-miles or less from the primary/principal work location. Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 50 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time._

    The Supportive Services and National Family Caregiver Support Program Administrator will manage Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) funded Supportive Services and National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP), and coordination of state funded self-directed services grants to sustain family caregivers in the caregivers’ roles so older adults can remain at home longer. Responsibilities include:

     

    + Strengthen caregiving and supplemental services and Caregiver Consultation capacity statewide in partnership with Area Agencies on Aging (AAA).

    + Assist with compliance monitoring, and federal reporting efforts as it relates to OAA Title III-B Supportive Services and Title III-E NFCSP services.

    + Ensuring that the most effective services are offered to individuals caregiving to sustain them in their role while also maintaining their own health.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Two (2) years highly skilled professional experience performing administration services for community-based aging services program, i.e. meal delivery, transportation, and/or chore services.

    Experience must include the following:

    + Experience with funding of caregiver support services, including Title III-B Supportive Services, Title III-E, and the National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP).

    + Working knowledge of the relationship between Older Americans Act (OAA) funded services, Alternative Care (AC), Elderly Waiver (EW), and Essential Community Supports (ECS) programs.

     

    _Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Policy, Gerontology or related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience OR Master’s degree in Human Services, Public Policy, Gerontology or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience_

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Thorough understanding of the federal and state laws, regulations, and reporting requirements driving payment for and the delivery of older adult supplemental and caregiver support services

    + Understanding of planning principles, strategies, and techniques.

    + In-depth knowledge of the range of caregiver and supplemental support services and experience in overseeing a caregiver support program including best practices and evidence-based models that work effectively for older adults and caregivers of color and American Indian caregivers.

    + A thorough understanding of the needs of caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, and the strategies to support them most effectively.

    + Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and/or cultures.
