Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. This is an in-office position, ideal for candidates based locally and ready to contribute to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely reconciliation of depository, corporate insurance, and investment accounts.

• Collaborate with banks and armored carriers to investigate and resolve errors and discrepancies.

• Assist regional controllers and accountants in identifying and addressing ledger discrepancies.

• Prepare and post maintenance and corrective journal entries as required.

• Serve as a primary contact between field operations, accounting teams, banks, and third-party banking vendors.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of corporate accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.

• Experience in organizations with multiple locations or stores is preferred.

• Strong understanding of general ledger processes, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with month-end close procedures.
