    Hourly Rate: $31.25 to $33.65 per hour.

     

    Summary: Craig Technologies has an opening for an Aviation Analyst Assistant in Mountainview, CA. This position is responsible for supporting the Aviation Expert Analysts on a NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) contract. The ASRS Analyst Assistant should have a combination of education and experience related to the aviation domain to provide support to the Expert Analysts with minimal training. All analysts must maintain knowledge of current aviation operations to identify potential de-identification concerns.

    Detailed Description:

    + Read large amounts of aviation safety incidents digitally, utilizing a custom tool

    + Attend monthly team meetings

    + Learn de-identification techniques for text reports, and conduct narrative scrubbing using the custom software tool (which will be taught during multiple training sessions)

    + Select fixed field specialized terms using the custom tool

    Position Requirements:

    + Candidate should have obtained at minimum a Private Pilot Certificate or working towards this first step

    + Has enrolled or completed a degree or technical program of study related to Airway/Aviation Aerospace Science or Aviation or in lieu of college degree, have achieved over 200 hours of flight time and private pilot license and instrument rating

    + Be detail oriented– read technical documents and accurately identify and correct words/items per SOP

    + Work reliability

    + Strong English language skills – comprehension, written, verbal

    + Excellent writing skills

    + Strong communication skills, written, verbal and comprehension, timely responses, both verbally and via email

    + Excellent time management skills

    + Punctuality for meeting attendance and email correspondence

    + Adhere to scheduled work hours

    + Familiarity with PC hardware

    + Familiarity with PC Software: Microsoft Tools such as OneDrive, Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to learn a custom browser-based software tool

    + Ability to complete training and pass training checks.

    Desirables:

    + Ability to work either remotely or in office at/near Ames Research Center, Mountainview, CA.
