    The department Informatics and Health Data Science has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Research Support Specialist to work on the UHealth campus. The Research Support Specialist will assist with programming of REDCap or Qualtrics [web] and mEMA [smartphone] surveys. S/he will be responsible for daily monitoring of compliance with daily diary surveys and placing and/or sending reminder compliance calls and/or emails. The Specialist will also be responsible for ordering and maintaining study supplies, provide assistance with project budgeting, and coordinate with other project staff on day-to-day tasks, including project staff from other organizations participating in multi-site studies.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Researches, collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data and maintains databases.

    + Conducts quality assurance checks, reports on the status of research activities, and submits monthly activity logs for protocol.

    + Organizes and coordinates community working group meetings for protocol activities.

    + Serves as primary point of contact for community partners and supervises and oversees research data collection at protocol venues in the community.

    + Reviews study progress, identifies areas of opportunity, and recommends solutions.

    + Prepares and updates study research procedures manuals.

    + Assists with the preparation of grant proposals by processing regulatory documents for all institutions and offices involved.

    + Contributes to the publication and presentation of significant results and writes and edits material for publication and presentation.

    + Maintains research files and responds to phone calls on the research study phone line.

    + Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

    + No Experience Required

    + Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

    + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

    + Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.

    + Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

    + Ability to understand and follow instructions.

    + Use of software used to organize (e.g., Excel) or analyze (e.g., SPSS, NVIVO) data is not required but preferred.

    + Must be comfortable talking with research participants over the telephone or Zoom.

    + Strong organizational skills are required.

    + Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
