Description
**Astronics AES** is seeking a **Manufacturing Engineering Aide** to join our team in **Kirkland, WA** .
This is an onsite position, working Monday - Friday in the facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineering Aide oversees a variety of complex operations and duties in a production area, including but not limited to ordering of materials, building benches and assisting with safety requests.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Responds to production line issues, such as tooling misalignments, machine stoppages, or incorrect work instructions.
+ Follows established troubleshooting procedures to address problems and ensures smooth handoffs when escalating to engineers or other personnel.
+ Performs evaluations and audits of current manufacturing work instructions to make improvements with safety and quality in mind.
+ Regularly engages with operators on the production floor to ensure instructions are clear, accurate, and easy to interpret, while gathering input on time standards deviating from reality.
+ Ensures manufacturing work instructions and process documents are accurate and complete. Assists manufacturing engineer with Initiating updates and change requests as needed to the ERS/PLM systems.
+ Educates internal customers on why work instructions/procedures are in place and why/how they can help identify and improve the accuracy of that documentation.
+ Participates in basic improvement projects, such as reorganizing materials to improve workflow or reducing motion waste for operators.
+ Department representative for cost/cost of poor-quality reduction projects, which involves tracking and following up on action items by the cross functional team.
+ Collects and analyzes basic data to support(s) lean manufacturing initiatives.
+ Diagnoses and resolves basic equipment issues such as tooling malfunctions or minor mechanical adjustments via established process) and escalates to Manufacturing Engineer as needed.
+ Reduce opportunities for error on the production floor.
+ Ensure Kaboodles are well maintained and clearly identifiable.
+ Demonstrates knowledge of fabrication tools & fixtures, calibration procedures, and safety protocols.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
+ High school diploma required.
+ Ability to understand Engineering Concepts including but not limited to: Statics, Dynamics, Drafting, Statistics, Physics, Material Sciences, and Chemistry.
+ Demonstrates expertise (6+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position).
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
+ As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). **Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.**
+ An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test **which includes screening for the use of cannabis.**
**Salary is $24.52 - $36.79 per hour** .
