JOB SUMMARY

The Subcontract Manager - NPI utilizes industry experience to translate knowledge of key commodity markets, distribution networks, transportation methods, and contract manufacturer operations into in depth analysis in proposing supply chain solutions. Supports new product introduction efforts from proof-of-concept to hand-off to production.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Negotiates and maintains agreements with significant monetary value to achieve quality, schedule, and cost targets, coordinating with internal and external resources to define technical, quality, legal and financial requirements.

+ Establishes sources of supply and evaluates relative supplier risk, along with risk mitigation strategies.

+ As applicable, coordinates with established contacts at ATRO companies to generate both short and long-term supply solutions.

+ Builds strong relationships with supply chain partners, adapting to identified risks, incorporating joint innovation programs and furthering supplier development. Enhances customer intimacy model within the tiers of the supply chain.

+ Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned programs to optimize lowest total acquisition cost.

+ Coordinates supply chain issues with multiple levels of the supply chain to resolve quality, schedule, or cost problems.

+ Mentor and provide guidance to other Supply Chain team members as well as early career associates, such as Supplier Quality Engineering and Operations.

+ In addition to the job duties of a Subcontract Manager the New Product Introduction role will perform the following:

+ (NPI SCM) The NPI Subcontract Manager position is responsible for working in a team environment to manage new program procurement activity for a range of development programs under tight development schedules to meet program objectives. Support proposal activity by obtaining estimates for key cost drivers; support selection of sources to meet target material costs. Coordinate within Supply Chain to develop each new Development program supply chain plan, to align with supplier strategies.

+ (NPI SCM) Coordinate new program activity- work closely with Design Engineering and Program Management in a project management setting with a bias for action.

This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

+ Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or a combination of certifications (APICS and/or CPSM) and/or 8-10 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.

+ Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

+ Demonstrated understanding of supplier management strategies.

+ Demonstrates proficiency (typically 8+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position):

+ Background with knowledge in printed circuit boards and electronic components

+ Identifying and developing new sources of supply

+ Working across multiple functions both internal & external

+ Proposal preparation and management

+ Negotiation plan development and resulting negotiations

+ Monitoring and managing contract & supplier performance

+ Developing solutions to complex problems and executable action plans

+ Demonstrated understanding of contractual requirements: Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR).

+ Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Life Management (PLM) systems.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

+ As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by _International Traffic in Arms Regulations_ (ITAR). **Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible** .

+ An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and **drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.**

Base salary range is $94,208 - $141,313 per year.

Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
