Aerospace Structural Analysis Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to research and develop structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic, or composite structural materials for product design or operation. The role involves analyzing damage tolerance, durability, design allowable, and structural modeling. Specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue, general FEA, and material science.
Responsibilities
+ Develop structural engineering specifications for metallic, non-metallic, and composite structures throughout the product life cycle.
+ Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) to assess complex non-linear structures.
+ Perform hand calculations to verify software and simulation tool results.
+ Analyze structures for loads development, stress, stability, fatigue, and thermal assessment.
+ Collaborate closely with multiple engineering disciplines due to the complex nature of the systems analyzed.
+ Plan tasks, conduct technical peer reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Essential Skills
+ 8-10 years of structural analysis experience, particularly in primary structures such as full wing, fuselage, and airframe.
+ 6-8 years of experience in linear/nonlinear FEA.
+ 6-8 years of fracture and fatigue analysis.
+ 2 years of experience in thermal mapping with structures coupled.
+ Experience with metals, non-metals, and composite materials.
+ Proficiency in software tools such as FEMAP and Nastran.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science (BS) in a STEM discipline or Master’s of Science.
+ Experience performing a variety of classical and finite element analysis solution types.
+ Knowledge of high-temperature materials is a plus.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $80.00/hr.
