    The Order Entry/Customer Service Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in processing and triaging medication orders. This position involves handling incoming calls and directing them appropriately. The technician will engage with long-term care facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians to manage drug orders received via faxes and other forms of communication. Additionally, they will answer medication-related inquiries and assess patient profiles to determine the appropriateness of orders. Preparing documents by highlighting key information and entering medication orders efficiently is a central responsibility. The role is straightforward and repetitive, requiring attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities

    + Handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately.

    + Engage with long-term care facilities, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians regarding drug orders.

    + Manage medication orders received via faxes and other forms.

    + Answer questions regarding medications.

    + Assess patient profiles to determine appropriateness of orders.

    + Prepare documents by highlighting pertinent information.

    + Enter medication orders at a rate of 40-45 per hour.

    + Call on all new admissions to long-term care facilities.

    + Resolve order issues by understanding and utilizing the Automatic Dispensing Unit.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in SIG codes.

    + Certified Pharmacy Technician in Kansas.

    + Strong customer service skills.

    + Experience in order entry and data entry.

    + Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

    + Effective communication skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Target, Walgreens, CVS, Cub Foods.

    + Registered Pharmacy Technician.

    Work Environment

    The technician will work in a quiet, production-based office environment. This closed-door setting is not customer-facing, allowing for a predictable schedule and individual work cubicles. The role is full-time, with hours from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday. The company is in its growing stages with a startup feel, driven by technology, where team members are responsible for the frontline of the pharmacy, handling incoming phone calls, faxes, and electronic orders.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
