Position Summary:
The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of the Operations Teams as defined by the Director of Operations, in addition to observing and safeguarding the Company’s assets. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

In this Role:
+ Responsible for practicing, supporting, and always promoting Gun Lake Casino Resort’s Four Diamond Standards.
+ Responsible for all managerial functions of non-exempt Team Members within the Operations departments including, but not limited to interviewing, making hiring and firing recommendations to the Director of Operations, and progressive discipline of Team Members, as well as resolving guest opportunities within the Operations Departments. Prepare and present performance appraisals to non-exempt and exempt Team Members with the approval of the Director of Operations.
+ Assist the Director of Operations in administrative functions in the development of new supervisors and non-exempt Team Members.
+ Assist the Director of Operations in a regular review of labor metrics in all areas of Operations utilizing the labor review system in place at the property.
+ Periodic audits of departmental schedules compared with forecasted volumes.
+ Regular meetings with Operations Supervisors to discuss opportunities, strategies, resource needs, and accomplishments.
+ Display Unsurpassed Service Standards in verbal and written interactions with internal and external guests as well as all levels of management and Tribal Council.
+ Perform public speaking and presenting responsibilities to an audience of all sizes, ages, and education levels.
+ Create professional written materials in electronic and handwritten form.
+ Responsible for establishing department-specific rules, policies, and procedures and ensuring all shifts are consistent in adhering to the same rules, policies, and procedures. Assist in the design and delegation of job responsibilities.
+ Assist the Director of Operations in a regular review of operational expenses and budget estimates, inventory supplies, and ensure necessary items are ordered.
+ Conduct frequent inspections of all public areas of the Casino Resort in order to maintain a high standard of guest service, and complete inspection forms and reports as required. Report facility problems and required preventative maintenance.
+ Assist Job Coaches in the training of all Team Members regarding safety standards and regulations; document and submit records of training to the Director of Operations.
+ Ensure all equipment is working and maintained properly. Report all items that need repair immediately.
+ Conduct huddles with Team Members to discuss job functions, teamwork, staff development, concerns, questions, and recognition.
+ Maintain an open-door policy and make time for each Team Member who needs direction.
+ Communicate effectively with all departments within the Casino Resort and all other levels of management.
+ Responsible for operations one of the property’s vehicles to pick up and drop off VIP guests as requested.
+ Other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
+ Must be 21+ years of age.
+ Must possess a High School diploma or GED. Associate’s degree in a business-related field preferred.
+ Previous experience as an operations supervisor at Gun Lake Casino Resort preferred.
+ Five (5) years in a hospitality environment with a focus on guest service.
+ Three (3) years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry overseeing teams larger than fifty (50) hourly team members with a history of leading diverse teams.
+ Must have a valid chauffeur’s license from the State of Michigan.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
+ Must be able to obtain a gaming license with the Gun Lake Tribal Gaming Commission.
+ Knowledge of budget and forecasting process.
+ Extensive knowledge of Safety Data Sheets and HMIS; extensive knowledge of commercial cleaning processes, equipment, and tools.
+ Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, innovative, flexible, task-oriented, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and can work with minimal direction.
+ Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.
+ Able to make progress and handle multiple assignments under time constraints and establish priorities effectively.
+ Ability to express ideas or make recommendations concerning job-related issues; learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments; maintain knowledge of basic concepts and techniques.
+ Must possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook and must be able to learn other software applications that apply to the position.
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Physical Requirements:
+ Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
+ Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
+ Ability to read, write, and input data into the computer.
+ Ability to sit at a computer for a long period of time.
+ Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
+ Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an office environment or out on the casino floor. Work areas may be warm, cold, or noisy and may contain second-hand smoke. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area.
