    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of commercial experience or hold a journeyman-level certification. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial HVAC systems, restaurant refrigeration equipment, and chillers.

    Responsibilities

    + Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems, chillers, and restaurant refrigeration equipment, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and prep tables.

    + Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system testing.

    + Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.

    + Work on rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, and exhaust systems.

    + Install, replace, and service HVAC and refrigeration components.

    + Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and team members.

    + Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.

    + Follow safety procedures and industry standards.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration or JM level certification.

    + Strong refrigeration skills, including diagnosing and repairing refrigeration systems.

    + EPA Universal Certification.

    + Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for HVAC and refrigeration systems.

    + Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

    + Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    + Availability for on-call rotation and occasional after-hours service.

    + OSHA 10 or 30 certification.

    + Proficiency in using electrical software devices, such as Simpro.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with electrical, HVAC, construction, conduit, troubleshooting, blueprint reading, repair, service, hand tools, wiring, pneumatics, installation, plumbing, refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, HVAC maintenance, HVAC repair, refrigeration equipment, boilers, sheet metal.

    + Possession of a refrigeration license.

    Work Environment

     

    Work is scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime available. The role includes a once-a-month on-call rotation and requires comfort with both indoor and outdoor climates. Employees typically return home at night, with the furthest site being 2 hours away. The work environment may involve random on-site drug testing if needed.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
