Celtic Bank is looking to add a Business Intelligence Analyst to join their tech department. The Business Intelligence Analyst position is responsible for working on big data/analytics projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data, performs analysis, interprets results and develops actionable insights and recommendations for use across the company.

The ideal candidate for this role is an intermediate experienced individual contributor with at least 3 years of previous job experience in a Reporting, Data Analysis, or Product Management role in the financial services industry. The Business Intelligence Analyst will be expected to work under limited supervision, will interface directly with business users as well as technical and engineering resources, and will report to the Director of Analytics. This individual contributor applies subject matter expertise to develop new insights and understanding of business performance based on data and statistical methods..

Essential Job Functions

+ Work with non-technical business users to accomplish their objectives for data visualization through the application of features in a data visualization tool.

+ Become an in-house expert in our data visualization tooling, fielding questions from business users and empowering self-service within the user base.

+ Ability to recognize when a user’s objective exceeds the capabilities of the data visualization tool and will require coding solutions.

+ Translate business objectives into technical requirements for discussion with software and data engineering roles.

+ Document business user’s objectives to ensure development efforts stay focused on meeting long-term strategic goals.

+ Ability to maintain a great attitude and professional disposition with both internal and external parties, especially while handling deadlines, delays, and setbacks.

+ Complies with and adheres to all regulatory compliance areas, policies and procedures and best practices.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

+ Detail oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (verbal and written) skills.

+ 3 years of experience with MySQL, MS SQL Server.

+ 3 years of experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Thought Spot.

+ 2 years of consecutive experience presenting to senior leadership and stakeholders.

+ Ability to problem solve and work independently.

+ Must possess the ability to prioritize and support various activities simultaneously.

+ Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, including by demonstrating excellent time management, organization, and planning skills.

+ Strong technical skills - including but not limited to MySQL, MS SQL Server, Power BI, Tableau, Thought Spot, or other data visualization platforms.

+ Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data in order to provide answers to business questions as well as provide recommendations for action.

+ Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with business users.

Physical and Other Requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. + Stationary Work: The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to type, handle documents, and perform other office related duties. + Work Model: The employee in this position will work either a fully Onsite or Hybrid work model. All employees, regardless of location, may be required to travel to the Salt Lake City office for mandatory company meetings, events, or related occasions.

+ Utah-based employees: Hybrid work schedule available after initial training period in our Salt Lake City, Utah office – department and job requirements will determine eligibility.
