    THE POSITION

    If you have a passion for helping others and a strong background in vocational guidance, the position of Corrections Employment and Vocational Coordinator at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Cambridge Springs may be the perfect fit for you.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Corrections Employment Vocational Coordinator, your main role will be to provide employment and skills development opportunities for inmates at SCI Cambridge Springs. Your duties will involve managing inmate jobs and academic or vocational program assignments, as well as determining job vacancies and conducting interviews with inmates before assigning them to work details. You will also provide vocational counseling aimed at improving inmates' employment prospects and coordinating the inmate payroll and compensation system. Your efforts will not only benefit the inmates but also contribute to the overall functioning of the correctional institution.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,035.00 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Two years of experience as a Corrections Employment and Vocational Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + Two years of para-professional experience in obtaining and evaluating vocational or employment information;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Other Requirements:

    + Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
