Summary This position is located at the Western Oregon Service Unit, Chemawa Indian Health Center and serves in the Behavioral Health/ Mental Health Department. The purpose of the position is to provide primary health care and nursing services with emphasis on individual and family centered preventive approaches. This vacancy will be filled through OPM's Direct Hire Authority. Orders laboratory tests as necessary to assure an accurate diagnosis. Prescribes medications to treat specific illnesses. Examples Include: Provides direct psychiatric services to patients across the life-span by assessing plans and providing support, comprehensive and therapeutic/ psychiatric, and psychological health care to individual geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric patients and their families with as-needed consultation with the medical staff; conducts evaluation and diagnosis of psychiatric medication needs. Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized.
