Responsibilities

+ Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.

+ Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

+ Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.

+ Trouble shooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects of production equipment.

+ Performs preventative maintenance in the facility, infrastructure, and equipment.

+ Able to keep records of work completed in work order system and communicate within the department and other departments.

+ Maintains safe, clean, and orderly work areas.

+ Perform routine and assigned railcar and chemical systems maintenance.

+ Diagnose equipment problems and make repairs and/or replacements of mechanisms such as tie rods, solenoid valves, sprue bushings, nozzle heaters, conveyor belts, drives, low voltage, and high voltage electrical systems.

+ Able to understand and follow food safety requirements per the SQF standard.

Qualifications

+ Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.

+ Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

+ Capable of maintaining an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime.

+ High school diploma or GED equivalency.

+ Read, write and speak English.

+ Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines.

+ Negative drug screen test results.

+ Training required in one or more major areas of maintenance and/or 1-2 years of experience.

+ Possess functional knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair/maintenance on manufacturing equipment with one-year minimum practical application.

+ Possess basic knowledge and ability to use hand tools.

+ Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes.

+ Able to pass the mechanical aptitude test.

+ Preferred Skills / Experience:

+ Power point and AutoCAD are a plus but not required.

+ Programming experience preferred.

+ Working knowledge of PLC’s beneficial.
