    Description -

As an Echo Sonographer, you'll play a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring various health conditions, all while working with cutting-edge technology.     Responsibilities:

    + Assist physicians with invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards.

    + Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked, and charges entered via RIS and ISITE systems.

    + Responsible for high-level disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment.

    + Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.

    + Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures.

    + Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition; document patient history electronically.

    + Perform technical ultrasound procedures, correlating patient history, lab data, and physical findings for medical diagnosis under physician supervision.

    + Interact effectively with patients and co-workers, displaying care, listening, dignity, and respect.

    + Work as a team member within the department and across departments to expedite patient care.

    + Utilize ultrasound instrumentation, demonstrating knowledge of equipment operations and scanning techniques for optimized image documentation; complete procedures according to protocol.

     

    Shift: Various shifts starting no earlier than 7AM. and ending no later than 8PM. Shifts include rotating weekends, and rotating Saturdays. The expected shifts are 7AM-3:30PM, 7:45AM-4:15PM, 9:30AM-6PM

    Qualifications -

    + Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.

    + RDMS or RDCS registered or registry eligible preferred.

    + Completion of Physics portion of registry preferred.

    + Must obtain RDMS or RDCS within 12 months of hire date.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting

    + Act 33

    + Act 34

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance
