    **The Dalles Disposal** , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a **Part-Time Transfer Station Attendant** to join our team in **The Dalles, Oregon** .

     

    Schedule is **Saturday & Monday**

     

    Shift is **8:00 AM – 5:00 PM**

     

    Hourly wage is **$34.98/HR**

     

    As a Transfer Station Attendant, you need to be reliable, safety-minded, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. You should also be highly organized with strong time-management and prioritization skills. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with both customers and colleagues.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.

    + Safely and efficiently operate **forklift,** **backhoe** , and/or **front-end loader** .

    + Measure trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers.

    + Track measurement information in computer system.

    + Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.

    + Work on your feet outside throughout your shift.

    + Assisting with office duties,filingand paperwork as needed.

    + Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    + Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

    + Promotes continuous improvement ofworkplace safetyand environmental practices.

    + Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    + Ability to operateheavy equipmentsafely and efficiently.

    + Knowledge of light and heavyequipment operationand maintenance.

    + Must be dependable with an ability to lead.

    + Ability to work inall weather conditions.

    + Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day.

    + This is a physical job working in a covered area as well as outdoors inall weather conditions.

    + Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforcesafetyprocedures.

    + Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basicsafetyprecautions.

    + **To be eligible for employment, candidate must pass a criminal background check, & drug panel** **screening** **as well as have an acceptable** **motor vehicle** **report.**
